Earlier this week, astute Blue Jays fans spotted Toronto relief pitcher Joe Biagini in the crowd of the Tonight Show.

One fan shared a clip of Biagini missing an attempted high five with host Jimmy Fallon with several Blue Jays including slugger Josh Donaldson. The fan noted Biagini was not on Twitter to confirm or deny the snub.

With Biagini unable to respond, Donaldson confirmed that it was his teammate.

The incident of course caused a Twitter (over)reaction, as even the Jays themselves, got in the act.

Friday night Fallon took an opportunity to right a wrong be bringing Biagini back for a second attempt to connect with the Jays pitcher.

Fallon said, “I felt bad and thought, maybe he isn’t all that athletic. So I looked him up and it turns out, not only is he athletic, he is a relief pitcher with the Toronto Blue Jays.”

With the help of a drum roll, the pair were able to connect Friday night.
